Borrowing your eyes

Lo these many years ago when I worked at a small bookstore in central Iowa, we carried blank books made partially from recycled bicycles. The binding was often used bicycle cable, they were held shut by bands of rubber from old inner tubes, etc. They struck me as a neat thing, but I had no use for a blank book and never bought one. Now I'm thinking I'd like to get one, but I can't find them online (my searches bring up bike repair manuals for the most part). Have you ever seen such a thing for sale? Where?

ETA: [info]adalger found some! Thanks, [info]adalger!

Pretty! It's a different thing than the one I had seen before and was trying to find, but also very nice.

I didn't think it was what you had seen before, partly because it was from Etsy, but I did think these were kinda neat.

That does sound cool. You shall have to share pictures.

If you want a less specific recycled notebook, Half Price Books has some good ones.

Somebody has a photo of one up on Flickr. I remember that there were several types, of which that's one.

Strictly speaking I don't actually need another notebook, I just want one of these because they're neat. :-) Thanks for the suggestion, though! I like Half Price, but I don't think I would have thought of looking there for a blank book.
